About me

As the first in my family to go to college, I believe in the transformative power of education in helping us to live fuller and more present lives. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at California Polytechnic University - Pomona, before going on to get my Master’s in College Counseling and Student Development at Azusa Pacific University.

Since then, my work as a university administrator and educator has honed my skills in developing learning experiences for adult learners. I take a comprehensive approach to developing learning solutions and have developed e-learning, job aides, social learning experiences, and large-scale conferences and programs to meet a diverse range of adult learning needs.

What I believe in

Learn by doing - I create e-learning experiences where learners can draw on their prior knowledge and perspective. I develop exercises where learners can practice skills and manipulate the content, and make sense of it within the context of their lives.

Accessible e-learning - Education and knowledge are powerful tools in building equity in our communities. E-learning should be free or low-cost, developed with differences in learner needs in mind, and deployed to be easily accessible by underprivileged communities.

Fostering a growth mindset - I strive to create learning experiences that help learners to see their progress and to appreciate learning from their successes and mistakes.

Challenge and Support - We learn best when we experience an appropriate level of challenge. I aim to provide just the right level of support needed for each learner by designing from a learner-centered approach.
