Overview

With the rapid increase in remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, many workers faced the challenge of ensuring their home had the required resources and environment conducive to working effectively. Setting up a home office for remote work requires workers to ensure their home internet and workspace can support the devices provided by their employers. In some cases, workers are tasked with sourcing technology and devices themselves. This interaction, built in Articulate Storyline, provides an example of a learning solution to help new remote workers make informed decisions about their home office setup.

Design Process

Having experienced the process of crafting my home office a few times over, I researched the four main areas that I had to tackle along the way.

1. Purchasing the right desk for my space and devices

2. Selecting the right monitors

3. Choosing the right desk chair

4. Ensuring proper network connectivity

After drafting a written storyboard for each slide, I sourced a vector image from Freepik that would allow me to make an interactive, clickable space for learners to engage with the content. My design plan was for learners to click on the Monitor, Office Chair, Desk, and Internet Router in the image to reveal the associated information.
